I'm excited for a great year at SPSJ! I wanted to share a little about myself as we get to know each other throughout this upcoming school year. I'm a mother of two great kids that definitely keep me busy with extra curricular activities. My daughter, Lola, is entering eighth grade and loves dance and drama club. My son, Liam, is going into his junior year of high school and plays on the PHS soccer team. My husband, Clint, drives a tractor trailer for UPS. As for me and my personal time, I like to exercise to keep moving for focus and energy. I also love a good book to curl up with at night so any recommendation you have, please share. I'm always on the lookout for a good read of all genres.
Information on my background in education, I have a NJ K-6 teaching certificate and experience working both in the classroom and online. I worked as in class support and subbing for five years to have a flexible schedule while my children were pre-school through elementary age and I was in graduate school. For two years I have taught online, tutoring high school and college students in writing and ESL online to students overseas with ages 4-14 years old varying in levels.
I'm looking forward to working with all of you this year and to have this opportunity to inspire students to have a love for learning and see our classroom as their learning community. I hope to spark curiosity and to teach my students to capitalize on their strengths individually and collectively as a group. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns throughout the year. We're going to have a great year! It's great to be a Saint!
